Cabrio interior parts. Dark Brown primarily

Post

This is a comprehensive list of stuff I know my interior will need to restore back to what I'd like.  Since the car was fitted with the very dark brown interior from new I'd like to put it all back to that again.  I'm looking at either tan seats and door cards or very dark brown ones to match the existing vinyl.  Essentially though, anything brown for the interior will be considered as suitable.

> Front and rear door cards - presently black with grey-red-blue houndstooth Clipper items
> Carpet set - presently super-fluffy black non-cabrio
> Front and rear seats - presently black with grey-red-blue houndstooth Clipper items
> Parcel shelf and side trims - presently black and missing, respectively
> Mirror adjuster toggles - presently black, dark brown preferred.
> Grab handles - Presently black with no chrome inserts.  Early or late, dark brown preferred.
> Door release handles and trims - presently all black except for the release handle on the passenger side.  Would like all brown.
> All four window winders - presently an assortment of black ones, would like brown all round.
> Rear seat hood hinge covers - currently black replacements, would prefer brown.
> Hood catch release nubbins - I'm pretty sure mine are missing, brown again please.
> Boot carpet - missing.
> Driver's side boot card - missing.
> Rear light cluster covers - missing.
> Tool kit and spare wheel holder - missing.
> M2 Scirocco Grille OR Grille without spots - presently badgeless spotlight grille with no trims, would prefer badged with chrome trim and side chrome trims too.
> Dash top vents
> Original steels and chrome hubcaps

Just so you know what colour interior I've got, here's a little picture of it at present.

I'm in Derbyshire, S43 and can collect from the neighbouring counties/areas, particularly if it's bulky things like seats and door cards.  I don't mind if stuff is a little tired or lightly damaged.

I have carpet and rear shelf (has speakers in shelf).  The handles for roof are supposed to be black (not sure about chrome) and I have a set.  I'll have the door handles and grabs in brown. I have brown centre console as well. Probably have more bits you need as well

My roof handles are okay so I don't need to replace those and I've got a good centre console.

Are the door handles the big ones or the little shelves?  Also, prices and location/postage cost please.

Grabs are the early little ones, just seen your pic of your door so you want later ones I guess. Location NR13, if you close by be good to come see what i've got for yourself.   I'll see what I've got and what else you'll need….

Carpet £20
Rear shelf £20 (it does have a crack underneath but you can't see when in place and it doesn't weaken it at all)

I have the interior door handles as well as sun visors…think I have spare gearstick gaiter as well as well as early Wolfsburg steering wheel (non-gti) for retro goodness.  I have a all the interior trim bits.  Basically I broke 2 dark brown cabbies.

NR13 is a three hour drive each way for me :'(  Mind you, it's worth it for getting a job lot of interior stuff.

I don't need sun visors, mine turned out to be the proper brown ones, as did the gearstick gaiter, and I'm okay with the four button I've got which is also brown.

Have you got seats and door cards?  They'd definitely make a drive over worthwhile.

I have but they are s1 seats/door cards from my s1 cabby…i do have a set of s1 belts which you'd need but i'm guessing you want to keep it original and the door cards aren't in great condition tbf plus I can't remember if I have 2 good door trims toppers or just 1.  I think the rear trims will be the same between the s1 and your s2 and I'd need to check but I think i have a pair in ok condition (minor tear but complete).

The car has enough originality to warrant a resto-mod approach, but not a perfect restoration, so I don't mind some mix and matching on the series of trim.

The door cards, seats and carpet that are fitted aren't original so I don't mind reverting to a S1 interior which is what it sounds is on offer.

Providing the parts are in reasonable condition I'm okay with items being a little worn, I'd like the car to show it's age a little and would rather buy second hand than new.  The only trim tops I need are for the front doors, with the passenger one needing much more work to restore than the driver's side, looks like both got damaged during an aborted removal attempt in the past.

I would be able to collect, so we don't need to worry about postage, but just for the sake of argument if we say I'm after the seats, seat belts, carpets, parcel shelf, door cards and fixings that's what I'd need a price on.  Oh, and some pictures too if you have them so I can see what I might be letting myself in for.  If you'd like I can PM my e-mail address to you if that's easier for sending pics.

You're probably looking at getting on for £200 for it all based on

£40 for rear shelf and carpet
£100 for s1 seats 2 front and rear bench
£30 for s1 seat belts
+ any other bits you need.  As said the door and rear cards aren't brilliant so I'll chuck them with the seats (you have a choice of two sets) in but you'll need the small handle grabs as well…I think I might have a good passenger side door top trim as well.

The driver seat is fabric worn but sound…perhaps just cover…the fronts have brown vinyl head rests.  If you PM me your mobile or email I'll send you some pics because you don't want to come all this way and not get what you want!

I think I've sent a message.  It's not exactly clear what is and isn't a message on this forum so we'll see if I got it right.
