signed up tonight after reading through the braking section this afternoon when i should have been paying attention to the course work have sent me on. lol.

got an 81 i think 1600 gti with a few issues to rectify.

as soon as i get the brakes sommat like its getting a KR which will in the future be turbo'd. should be quick enough.

trust me when i say this pic doesn't show how bad the rims are.

yes mate 81 GTi's were 1600, and your mk1 looks very tidy in that picture 8)

ordered a set of adaptors from justcaddys and should be picking up a set of g60 brakes later today. will put a thread up when i've done it.

so i got the kit from caddy forum dude. 45 quids delivered. not a bad price in the grand scheme of things i thought.



dont do it this way kids, i got it wrong. it sits in front of the hub.



so everything bolted on. ignore the rather scruffy disks, i think they might be beyond redemption.



g60 brakes on a mk1. needs a bigger servo and master cylinder now.

and of course i have some original mk1 brakes with plenty of life left in them for sale for around 50 squids.
