Wife got me a Mk1 for my 30th birthday

Hi all, my wife very kindly got me a Mk1 Golf CL for my 30th birthday!
I thought I would say hi and post a couple of pictures, she is not on the road until Saturday when I give Mr Brown some pocket money and purchase some road tax but in the past week and half I decided to remove the bumpers (sorry purists!) We purchased from Ebay for £400 nearly 2 weeks ago. I have called her Goly as the number plate suggests and she needs 2 front wings (rusty) but apart from that she is solid. The interior is untouched and very clean for saying she is 27 years old, its a funny creamy yellow colour and I intend to leave it standard, she even has the origonal blaupunkt stereo in her! The only things I intend on doing are fitting a coilover kit, getting a nice set of wide 13" wheels and tidying the bodywork. Whats everyones thoughts on Goly, the bumper removal and the couple of modifications I have planned? Look forward to your coments, Paul

 As standard,

Welcome to the forum dude, Looking good. Best b-day present I can think of.

Where did you get the indicators from for the bumper holes?

Thanks mate, The indicators are actually reverse lamps made by Ring, they are available from most motor stores (motorworld, halfords) for about 7 squid each, I put amber bulbs in and I was going to paint the lenses amber but i quite like the clear lenses now they are on.

Thanks for all the replys, Goly seems to be going down well with everyone so far. Im just looking forward to getting to a few meetings and I have just noticed the AGM is 20miles down the road from me so hopefully get the coilovers fitted before then and get to see you all. here are a couple more photos for you to have a look at.

Bumpers now removed and the photos dont show how badly the left front wing is rusted!! I need to get that done soon!!
