Hiya mate welcome to the site

You could re-shell your gti in another mk1 as you would have all the nessicery parts from your current car to swap over into a better shell & a few spares from the non gti left over. Depending on what engine was in shell you decide to use will depend on amount the work involved.

Theres alot of info on the site about fitting a gti into a non gti shell. For example to use a 1.3 shell I know you would have to move the drivers engine mount back to the base of the strut. You would have to swap the gti fuel tank and fuel lines over. Then theres running the injection which im not much use im afraid!

However theres loads of folks here who would be able to give you a better idea of whats involved.

As for parts theres euro car parts which i think are based in belfast and dublin.  BELFAST 028 9068 9700. Rally Design & ebay seem popular aswell. Hope this helps
