Ha cheers Debs
BIGBURT - I have a mk 1 golf series 2 with G60, hence the ear plugs thing. Also have a mk 1 Jetta 1.6 gl pretty much standard but we dont talk about that on here
Will be great to see new faces at the meets.
How long have you had your mk 1 and whats the story ie plans and things to do ??
As mentioned earlier looks a superb example, would luv a standard mk 1 golf GTI, esp silver !!!

G60 sounds cool look fwd to seeing it 8O
Well……. only had her a few months, I bought her from a guy in Haverhill , was imported from Germany new as a special order from a chelsea vw dealer, (sure you know but only offered inari silver gtis abroad between 79 and 81) has had 6 owners since and done 106k miles.
I used to be well into golfs in my twentys mk2s though, never had a mk1 so fancied treating myself for 40th much to wifes disgust
Done a fair bit to her (Car that is not wife) and the llist of to dos goes on……
Next jobs are coilovers to respectfully slam it!
then start to mint up the interior.
Then want to detail engine bay but will take engine out ect, spose the overall plan is to keep it as visually standard as poss but improve the drive and handling ect.
One point to mention guys had the wheels refurbed at "alloy art" in southend and they are fantastic £33 +vat a wheel (had to blag that tho) and they acid bath, sand blast, spin on lathe to prep ect then 3 coats of polyester powder coat, really recomend them they look BNIB
