hi i recently bought this 1990 mk1 golf gti, in one of the pics you can see the small tear in the rear of the hood, whats the best POA to try and fix it? the car needs a new headgasket but once thats done and a bit of tlc what do you think the car will be worth? its got 139 000 on the clock and has just had a new clutch 500 miles ago

Welcome.  Headgasket will cost you a bit but as these cars are old, rust and general upkeep are what dictates cost mate…. in short it'd be too hard to tell without seeing the car.

ive got the gasket kit and stretch bolts for 35£ and the head had already been skimmed when i bought it, ive got a mate whos a mechanic who is going to help me put it back together.

i payed 500 for it and its just had a new clutch 500 miles ago, does that sound about right? seems a good deal to me
