Wanted a GTi cab for 24 years

Hi folks,

Just joined up in preparation of my new purchase. Went to see a 1990 GTi cab yesterday. She's a little on the high mileage with 160,000 but has a full history and lots of new bits. She looked in good condition but I plan on bringing her up to scratch over the years.

As a complete noob to vw classics, can someone bullet point the starting points (good and bad) for me please?

Owned imprezas for years before moving onto the current two cars, Volvo V50 T5 for the family and Abarth 500 for me (which is for sale and will be replaced by the golf). Fingers crossed she sells in the coming days.

Can't wait to get my hands on her!
