Greetings fellow mk1 enthusiast,
I just bought myself a 1977 mk1 golf! I've been hunting it for quite a while and finally got one. Unforfunately it is not in good shape.. there are still loads of works for me to do before the car can be proudly cruisine on the public road of Kuala Lumpur.. I am desperately in need of a technical advice from anyone here throughout the whole restoration process.. i'm sure there are plenty of generous people around here as i read through the forum and found this great story of a 1978 mk1 gti restoration project by makky from japan.. (thumbs up for makky).

Welcome to the club! If you're new to car maintenance or restoration, make sure you take pictures of EVERYTHING, even from different angles… Trust me, it'll help a lot!

Thank you mk1jim and jusdubbin for the warm welcome. i'll definitely post some more photo of my mk1 throughout the restroration project. it's been an honor to join this forum… i haven't get myself behind the wheels yet.. looking forward to it. i am so excited
