Newbe

hi all.
Ive know about this forum for a long time. But never joined, I've got a 82 golf c that I've had for about 11 years but this month it has been off the road for 10 years. I took it off the road to change the engine from a 1100 to a 1800 gti but I grew up and bought a house so the car never got finished.
Im now in a place to start tinkering again so I've started over the last few weeks putting bits back together.

Ill try try get some pictures when I get in the garage again.

Hi all

Good to have you here,
You're in good company and it's good to see another one getting fixed up.
Have a trawl through the site and the google search box in the top left is brilliant for finding stuff out.

Once you get going start a new post up in the your projects section, that way you can just keep adding and updating as you go.

Cheers

A little 1100 Golf C is prob more interesting and rare these days than another GTI.

90%+ of MK1 Golf hatches still around are GTI's?????

And it will save the hassle of welding in new engine mounts, changing gearbox, drive shafts, exhaust, cooling system, wiring, fuel pumps, suspension, brakes etc.

If you can buy it don't built it?

1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

I changed the engine over when I was 18 at that age all I wanted was a fast car. if I'd of just been starting it now then I would of left it as it was. I wish someone would of said that to me back then.
