Hi,

I'm new around these parts so just checking in, i'm not a MK1 owner yet, however I have come hear to learn about getting insurence as a young driver (17O_o) in London  and if reasonable buy my first MK1. Looks like a really nice community and hope to get involved in the coming weeks.

Thanks

Welcome along to the Club, you can learn just about everything there is to know about a MK1 right here, all you need to do is ask.

So you've 'Checked-In', now get ready for 'Take-Off'!

Welcome, there are a few young drivers on here so will know more about insurance than me, however do the usual things when getting quotes, keep mileage to a minimum, add older named drivers, parents/relatives are ideal if they have no points/convictions etc and lots of no claims... Might help in keeping the price down. Or if it is silly expensive consider not being the main driver for a year or two and being a named additional.

What ever first car you get your insurance is going to be sky high, so you might as well make it a cool one

Hello and welcome to the forum. Agree with arf333, may as well go for a mk1 from the outset.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I agree anything that doesn't require pedal power is going to be sky high to insure, so I better make it cool
