Newbie from East Sussex

Hello all,

My names Greg and im from East Sussex I'll be picking up my first mk1 Golf next weekend its a mk1 cabriolet which has been standing for well over a year or maybe 2 in fact!, its a 88 model with elecy windows and roof, its needs alot of love to make it look good but its all part of the fun.
Im totally new owning a mk1 so any help would be  greatly appreciated 

welcome aboard, doesn't look bad from the pic, id take it for an mot to see what it needs and go from there, unless of course your going to do a full resto.

There's more combined knowledge on here than at VW themselves!  

I really like this colour combination on the cabbys. If you are going to keep it standard looking I have a brochure for that model year i think, if you have any questions.

I know the car has had all new brakes fitted, new fuel pump and wiper motor 6 months ago which is good as the owner was going to make it road worthy again but then forgotten about it so i made a cheeky offer plans atm is just ot get it running and buy a new hood its got rather a large tear on it.
