thought id best join

well ive been lurking around for a while as aguest, and stealing info lol

so i thought id join, eventually lol

i own a 83 golf, 1.1 c, with no sunroof

my mate bought it off ebay for ?200, a few week slater got a bit scared i think, and was going to scrap it, i said id have it before i let him scrap it

and its in a sorry state, it been stood for 15 years, the inner wings are rotted, forn panels rotted, rear panels rotted, theres a fair bit rotted, and i know im gonna get the just scrap it talk, but i rally dont wanna lol

im hoping to get it on the road asap, ive bought nearly everything i need sdo its just the work now

if anyone comes across theese itd be a big help..

passenger wing (would prefer seconhand)
ht leads
brake lines

having a bit of trouble with them for some reason

ill try and get pics up when i can of how i got it, and then hopefully a build thread

yeah all the work is getting done by myself, and a mate whos helping with the welding, and teaching me at the same time lol

Look forward to seeing the build thread. Should be a rewarding and worthwhile experience doing the car up. Either that or you'll be sick of the sight of it by the end   Only kiddin'. Glad another Mk1 has been saved from the scrapper.

I'd love to be able to weld… might come in handy with me owning a 25 year old car lol  :roll:

im no stranger to older vws now, the golf is my third

the other two were mk2 polos, one which is in bits being completely done and sat next to the golf and the other ive not long sold

the main reason for joining was to be able to get some help when i get a bit stuck lol

first port of call is get the engine running and inner wings sorted

spent ?105 on euro car parts last night

all fun aint it lol
