Steering

Hi,
There are a couple of options, retro fit a mk2 style setup using a power rack, there is no off the shelf kit though, TSR use to do one that used a Bluebird rack. Or fit an electric one like off a Cosra, Crazyquiff's do a kit.
Been discussed loads over the year:

I originally asked to see who was for,or against. I have got mine in at the moment with a company in Bolton called easystear. Why am I having it done……it's an age thing! I have a vwt2 bay camper with it fitted, and makes it a real pleasure to drive. Especially when parking in tight spots. I will give an update when I get my car back. Cheers.

I've been thinking about it for a while now but I'm leaning towards the electric option.
I have the BBS 15" wheels with low profile tires and to be honest it's harder to park then when I had a Series 3 LWB, 10 seater Safari Land-Rover built 1970!

A mate of mine bought a electric one for his MK2 Jag and what a difference it made I was gob smacked.  :o
Just don't know what the kit would cost and to fit over here.  :(

The reason is there fetching 3 to 4 Hundred GBP + post + fitting and you've no real idea what you're getting.
It could cost as much again to have it refurbished!  O_o

Fitted to my cabby two years ago, really impressed, parking is a doddle, tend to leave it on lowest assistance setting as not really needed once on the move. sadly in for repair at the moment as the electric motor needs replacing.

The beauty of having electric pas. If the motor ever packs in, it still drives. But goes back to the heavy steering. I would recommend it.

Hi, you can get a diy kit… But I have gone for the fully fitted price of £650. It's a company called easystear in Bolton. As I said earlier I have used them before and dealt with Rick who in my opinion is a top bloke. Hope this helps. Phil.

Believe there are 2 diy kits, one that's built( requires your column) and just needs fitting, and one that's a collection of parts.
