soo excited to be here..!

hi everyone! i am now the proud owner of my first mk1, and im new to this internet thingy aswell, its all new to me so please be gentle!
 not totally sure what car i have, its an '87 cabby auto. its got gti badges on but i guess they have been added on ( its an auto so cant be a real gti?) the log book says GL and it has karmann badges on front wings, but maybe its a clipper?! has a previous owner stuck  random badges on it or does this make sense to someone? (photos will be coming when i figure it out, SO much to learn!
its done 85k and altho thiers no history with it, i think this is genuine, due to the almost mint condition of the interior. im the third keeper with the old guy i bought it of being the keeper for the last 15 yrs. the body work looks like it was permantly parked in a supermarket car park! (lots of little door bangs) but no rust.
it runs like a dream and had full mot, no tax tho. it was a total impulse buy, im a mechanic/used car novice but :dontknow:
i thought it was a major bargain.  
 
im from the sheffield area, and regulary see other owners out and about, and now ive joined the club!
ive had a look round the site and there is some stunning cars,( for what its worth i love the two tone marmite car!) all of you must be very proud of your achievments, and i cant wait to have that same feeling!

again im totally starting from scratch so please be patient, but not afraid to point out if i ask some thing daft!

welcome fella, iv got a 1990 KARMANN clipper auto 1.8 carb, look it up in YOUR CARS AND PROJECTS SECTION you'l see if yours is or not, mines standard apart from the wheels so should be helpfull to compare, get some pics up i can take a look at her then :wink:
