Second time lucky...
Meet Marmite.
She's a Rat 1982 Golf C Diesel 5 speed (original) Which I thought might be fairly uncommon.
Now I know what a lot of people think about rats, but to me it's not about destroying a car for image, it's about finding a cheep car and giving it enough love to keep it from entering the scrap yard in the sky.
The car is lightly modified… more accessorized and currently sitting pretty on a 70mm drop on the front and 80mm drop on the back (was a 110mm drop before!) sporting black mk2 14" bottle tops. An original 70's harry moss roof rack, I lensless foglight with a mangled dolly head in it… … a good dose of stickers, tin plates and yellow headlights.
Marmite has had a lot of welding and engine work over recent weeks to keep her roadworthy and is now my daily drive as my girlfriend and Is beetle is currently not running properly… as usual.
She's almost about to reach her 200k birthday but since having a been given the magical spanner by last owner and friend Harry, she runs sweet as a nut. My favorite part is getting 50 mpg on a 60 mile round trip each day and I have now become Lidl's best customer for my fuel needs… I know, booo! hisss!
Anyways, this is what £500 buys you, tax and test included… Sorry about the duff phone pics

Sad thing is my car that was hit by the drunk was in almost immaculate condition. 1.1 c formel e with about 80k on the clock. The interior was completely uncut and had full service history plus one owner who garaged it for the first 22 years of its life!

Was a Cat B write off unfortunately, The chassis was buckled bigtime.
My plans for the car are a bit more welding and filling to get it more solid.
Try and get hold of the right paint colours to max it look more tidy.
Find a good ratty child's bike for the roof rack…
Not sure really, Need to stop it squeaking and rattling so much.
