As you can see there is a little rust, the wing I will replace to save the hassle. For me the only worru is the skuttle with its but, so any advice please will be greatly appreciated.

In all honesty she looks like she needs a fair bit of bodywork and the windscreen section is one of the hardest to get right I'm told (has to be exact to stop the water getting in). My mk1 is better than yours in some places and a lot worse in others. Overall they're probably similar condition. I paid £400 for mine I think with MOT but no tax. I would remove the plastic vents on the bonnet but that's just my preference. All that matters is that you enjoy the car. Like you I hope to replace panels on mine at some point.

You can always get full or part repair panels for the scuttle/A-pillar area…some here for example : http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=mk1+golf+repair+panel&_sacat=See-All-Categories
I personally would get rid of the bonnet scoop though.

Agreed the bonnet scoop isnt my cup of tea either. I also wondered about the plastic trim on the a-pillars. That doesnt seem to be to common on the others I looked??
Well, then for now the skuttle and wing are my 2 first attack points. I will start a build log in correct section and keep you informed. Need this in nice condition so that I can enjoy it in the summer :cheer:

my mk1 resembles a cullinder, biggest hole on inner wing, could fit a small child through it :redfaced: , but regardless, as long as the mk1 lives on, time and hard work will prevale
if thats spelt right :dontknow:
