Old enthusiast

Hi guys!  I am an old enthusiast (36!) and I am looking for information on my old Mk1.  I owned it from 1989 to 2003, it was a helious blue 1800 8v, the reg was TJM 822Y.  It was not a campaign edition but it was an import brought into the county by armed forces personnel, it was right hand drive.
I absolutely loved this car and I restored it over the mid 1990's, unfortunately due to two children coming along I sold it for a 5 door Mk2 16v in oak green, the guy who bought it was called Ben and he promised me he would look after it.  I now drive a 5 series BM but I still lust after the old Mk1.
I carried out one of those free HPI type thingies on the old golf and it said that she is still on the road.  Does anyone own or have any info on my old car?  I just wanted to know that it is still running and not part of a scrap heep somewhere.
TJM 822Y was my first car after passing my driving test and it had much sentimental value, please give me some info on it guys.

Have you checked the registers? You may find it listed there?

Welcome & good luck with the search. I'm looking for my old mk1 aswell.
To keep updated on whether your old car is still on the road you can go to the dvla website where you can check to see if any car is currently road taxed.

Checked the DVLA website and TJM 822Y is registered as SORN, so someone has it stored somewhere.
