Not so new, but rather absent!

Af'noon dubbers!

I'm not really a newbie; I joined the site back in 2008 when I bought a beauty of a Mk1 GTi cabby in all white. I loved that car more than my vital organs but, sadly, sold it a year later to recoup some funds for a career change and I was about to lose the use of the lock-up. I actually locked myself in the garage and cried that day (shh, it's a secret  ). Anyway, I'm looking at getting another (I've got the bug again!) and also thought I'd check in and see if the guy I sold my cabby to was around. I remember he mentioned being a member. When I sold the car it was all white bar a blue hood that I had fitted myself, but I believe he was going to make some changes. The reg is F### KGX; if you've seen him around I'd be grateful if you could point me in the right direction. I'd be interested to know how he's got on with the car and, obviously, I want a nose!

Cheers Spud :) Every time I see a cabby I apparently cast a forlorn face and all life gets sucked out of me… I thinks that's as good a reason as any to get another! It's just a b#tch that I have no garage; gonna need one hell of a cover and some driveway space borrowed from my parents (luckily I'm golden boy!).

I can't seem to track this guy who bought my car down. I've forgotten his name and where he lived (it was definitely north of Cornwall lol) which is a bit of a problem! I'm only interested in seeing what he's done to the car and was hoping he'd have a project thread on here, but no luck. Gah  :x

There is a check people can do on here where they can say if it was mot'd recently and roughly where it is I think.  Put a "Can anyone help me find out if my old car is still alive" thread in the mk1 chat section mate.  I'm sure someone will be able to help.  We have the AGM in two weeks where mk1 golfs from all over the country come together for the weekend.  Maybe come along on the Sunday (busiest day) and see if she's there?  :dontknow:

Bugger, just seen your reply! I guess I missed the meet :( I've been working a hell of a lot lately… funds for a new cabby are mounting! If anyone sees a nice white GTi with clipper kit for sale let me know ;)
