I've just collected a 93 Clipper auto

Hi,
I've just been, seen, bought, and collected a 1992 Clipper today, and if I had pics I would post them. After a drive up the M6 from Altringcham I discovered the wheels need balancing, but beside that it drove very well and was surprisingly quiet. I've been looking for a good automatic for over 3yrs, last Monday I went up to Glasgow to be disappointed. This one seems (i'm no expert) reasonably original and everything works with a full service history and 72,000 miles.
It doesn't smell like a dead horse has been left in it and the upholstery doesn't look like a £10 hookers bedsheets. It cost a lot, to me, some haggling was done, but at the moment I'm happy.

Welcome, car looks very nice and tidy, invest in a wind deflector as they make a world of difference when driving with the roof down, the only problem with them is you can sit people in the back.

I'm 6'6" NO ONE will sit behind me! My wife is only 5'11" so maybe someone could get behind her seat. I intend to get a wind deflector, if it ever drys up enough on the Fylde to take the roof down…….

Thank you for the welcome. Today has been a small exploration day. Sorted the rattle in the boot by putting the tools in their holder and strapping it down. I might have found a way to reduce the scuttle shake, I'm fairly sure 195/50/15 Bridgestone Turanza's aren't meant to be set at 40psi, I'll try 32 instead. I stand to be corrected as every day's a school day.

Scuttle shake normal on the floppy top cars, you get used to it.

It's not like modern cars with loads and loads strengthening bars as that just ads more weight.

Don't know about your tyres as I've still got the standard 185/60/14 which are at 26 psi

Hi Mark, I was expecting some shake but the small adjustments can improve things, + or - 2psi makes a massive difference to the 175 50 13's on my Mk1 Escort. I think it's trial and error on lower profile tyres, I could feel the front was too hard driving home on the M6.
