Hi guys just a little hello as we have just joined the club we are all V dub fans but it my eldist whos just bought his first car Mk1 Golf 1.3 3dr driving instructor says he"ll pass his test in september 07,,he should do ok as he as been riding a 12bandit for the last 8 months,,anyway just thought we say hello From us guys in North Yorkshire

Hi guys thanks for the welcome no pics as of yet my wife & i with our 2 boys went to pick the golf up  this saturday just gone & our eldist who"s car it is    is away on his hols so camera is in creet al get him to put some on when he gets back from sunning it up lol,,it was an ebay buy & to be fair to the seller his discription was pretty much spot on only thing that i can see at the mo is the O/S/R wheel arch will need some fettling maybe cutting it out & refit with a new piece other than that it looks to have a solid body & chassis,,& the drivers side "Floor" as no rot but under the carpet & sound proofing stuff its totally wet through,,dont know if this is common but i guess from a car of nearly 25 yrs  this is normal,,it crying out to be "Shutts" under sealing,,its been fitted with a lowering kt & i think its a tad hard as it tends to bounce around the bends but as we are new to this old girl again this could be normal,,crap tyres dont help either O/S/R as a massive flat spot "Tyre" that is,,she did 225 miles 70 ish all the way back no probs the little 1.3 motor is quite pokey & the 4 speed gear box is brill just leave it in top even on round abouts any advice anyone could offer us would be fanstastic Cheers guys Rick & Family from Skipton

Glad you got her home okay. Just bought one ourselves this week. Again on the dreaded Fleabay. My son and I drove a 260 mile trip to Pembroke and another 160 on the Irish side to bring our cabbie home. Hope you are lucky with yours and look forward to sending and seeing some pics.
