newby saying quick hi, thanks, help & a few pics

Just got a 93 Rivage so any info on common problems, best place for parts, history etc would be great. Thanks to Bert and everyone else for advice so far, not had chance to do anything yet but will keep you informed.
A couple of other things could anybody tell me if my wheels are origional? and if there are suppossed to be Rivage badges somewhere near back arches? If so where can I get them from and how much.
Thanks all, here's a few pics

welcome to the site, great looking car.

Wheels look original, check tye size should be R15. they also came in R14 which as far as I am aware didnt come as standard on the rivage, easier to find though.

Should be decals on the rear quarters.
check this post  http://www.vwgolfmk1.o…&t=40865&highlight=rivage

dont think the centre caps are the originals, should be metal flat centres.
15" castelets are not easy to find, best bet is ebay and the like.

First things to check for me would be.
filler neck - any signs of bubbling replace.
check brake pads + discs on front
top mounts + shocks - hard ride either has been lowered or front suspension may need some attention.
change all fluids - engine oil, gearbox oil, coolent(flush system), brake fluid.
change other service items - air filter etc.

to be fair 15" and 14" castellets look the same to me, I can only tell the diff by looking at the codes on the tyres.

Prices for 14" vary according to condition, seen them go for 11 quid for 3 and 250 ish for 4 as new orginals. Prices without tyres.

Seen 15" go for 450 for 4 boxed, or 400 ish for A1(mint) with 4 decent tyes.

pic of myn below and as you can tell 14inch

hello welcome to the club, nice collection of dubs. i'm 99% sure your centres are the correct ones and the metal centres were only on 14 inch wheels which were standard for the mk2 campaign, hopefully not sounding like an anorak

Hi Nikki

Nice looking Rivage. I've been looking for the right one since January, where did you end up getting it and how much if you don't mind me asking? (pm me if you'd prefer not to say here) Was it specifically a Rivage you were after? Did you look at many?

Hi Phirefly, Yet another lucky pop up to be honest. My other half had built a bec (bike engined car) and was selling it, one of his friends wanted it so they did a deal with Rivage and cash, she was ?2,000 which I think is a bit of a steal but I'm new to Rivage so unsure, if anybody's got any ideas if she was a good deal or not I'd be greatfull for input.
This is a great site for everything mk 1 everybody's been so helpful so a big thanks again to all! I'll keep my eye out for anymore Rivage Phirefly and I'll let you know :D

Thanks again everybody Nikki

?2000 sounds like a good price to me, I've been looking at solely Rivages for months now and if the bodywork and mechanics are sound, thats quite a bargain. I'm looking at one this weekend thats advertised at ?3250, which is the highest asking price I've considered viewing, but it had the lowest mileage of all I've seen and only 2 owners from new. By all accounts it could well need a new roof and the seller has been honest that the leather is looking tired, but these are things which can be remedied. I certainly don't intend to part with any sum begining with a 3 though!

I look forward to hearing about your new aquesition over the coming months on here. Enjoy!
