Newbie !!

Hi thought i needed to sign up to somewhere like this as i have been searching the net for weeks  !!

I have recently bought a 1982 Golf Cabrio (non GTi) for a bit of a modding project and need some advice on where to get certain parts from etc !! i;m new to the VW scene although i have been modding cars since i was 17 - previous cars being a Mk3 Fiesta, Escort RST, BMW M3 Vert and a Smart Cabrio (i still own the last two) . Just the fact i;ve always wanted a mk1 golf cabrio and get into the VeeDub scene !!

I have major plans for the Golf but need some assistance finding out the best places to find a genuine bonnet and front drivers side wing (but not at dealer prices if poss), also i need a single headlamp grill possible badgless with the chrome accent around the edges !!

The car came with a white half leather interior which i would like to sell or swap for a std set of seats and door cards - my ones are in "ok" condition but the drivers seat needs looking at as it wont recline properly !!

Hoping someone can help me out here !!

hello.

if you want genuine body parts (which is the best way to go!!) you should go to gpc, they do cheaper new parts.
but you may be able to find good second hand stuff like wings and bonnets, try crazyquiff on here, he will proberly help you out or put a post in the wanted section.

@ GEMLOU - yeah i am a part of LMC its not a busy as it used to be but its still going !!

@ CAMEL - thanks for the link there i will give them a call today regarding the parts - i need them sharpish as the car goes in the bodyshop end of this week hopefully

As i am stripping the car i am willing to sell most parts from it - wheels, side strips, grill, headlamps, wing mirrors, door handles etc etc pm me if you are interested !!
