Newbie with a question!

Hi all. I used to be in the army and regularly visit a friend who just returned from a posting in Germany. He brought back a lovely 1987 1.6 GLI Cabriolet and never used it since. After a while I couldnt stand seeing the car being taken over moss and dust so I started working on her. So know my friend wants to get rid of it and I have a option to buy, wich brings me to my question. What would be a reasonable price in current state and should I decide to spend a bit of money on it and sell it on, what could I expect to get for it. Mechanically she is fine and has a recent MOT, the pictures (i hope) would show the state yhe car is in.
Thank you all for reading

I have to admit, the more I spend time with it the more i get attached.

Well, the car looks very tidy for a 1987, is that red leather or cloth interior ?

im not great on pricing, especially a left hand drive car, but one thing i know is if you buy it and drive it in the sun, you wont want to get rid of it!

if he gives it to you for the right price, why dont you use it for one summer whilst you do any little bits of tidy up work etc, then if you dont wana keep it let it go next summer when all work has been done

good luck

welcome to the site  :D

If its in as good nick as it loks id guess at around 2k cause its left hand drive. non original alloys but has a full 12 month MOT.

The only way to find the real value though would be to put up on something like fleabay.
