Newbie to MK1s but not VWs !!!! Info on campaign please !!

Just joined up! currently own a 1976 bay window camper, T5 works van and a Golf Mk5 GTtdi.

Have owned 2 mk1 cabbies in past so know a little about MK1 s !!

have just been offered a 1982 Lhasa green Gti with wings and bonnet missing - looks pretty rust free for £500

what do you all reckon?

also I have the chance of a campaign gti, but not sure if it is genuine. Its registered on here so can somebody please help me to find out if its a real one or not? its a DW chassis code and doesnt have green tints !!!

seems it not a campaign.

Hoping to get lhasa Gti instead. Ill post pics of it in barn  and hopefully document restoration on here.

I'd go for the one that requires the least amount of welding and is most complete, whether it was a campaign or not.

yea thanks I agree.  The standard Gti alltough it has the front wings and bonnet missing looks pretty solid and its been in a barn for about 15 years. sunroof looks dodgy so could hide some horrors in there but everyhwere else looks good. going to have another look this morning and will take some pics.

Ok. Ive opted for a Lhasa green Campaign Gti that has come up for sale and is registered on here.

Its in a sorry state and needs to be loved again. Bit of welding and a new coat should bring it back to glory.

Ill post pics when I get it……cant wait
