Newbie on my 3rd Mk1!!!
I'm based in Northampton and on the New year I acquired what I've been told is an historic Mk1.
Her plate is B919 EGH, she's a red auto, 164k on the clock (original engine), sunroof, central locking (which also locks the petrol cap!!!), alarm, electric windows, electric aerial, rear windscreen wiper, front spots, all hub caps with a flap for the air valve, and one previous owner who says he got it imported from Germany in 1984 (the speedo seems to be accurate as I keep overtaking people at 40mph in speed restricted areas!!!).
She's still got her original spare tyre and all the fittings (the spanner that was part of it has come in very useful on many occasions) and I've just got her 12 months tax and MOT (she was actually well under the emissions for that age of vehicle) and has been a great little run-around.
Looks like the previous mechanic was a bit of a DIY freak so I've had to splash out on a new rocker cover gasket (I got given a set of spare head and valve gaskets which may be of use to someone) and have had to get her the right battery, swap the alternator brushes, and fix an air leak in the carbs inlet pipe, replace a split boot, but she's basically as good as new!!! (apart from the fuel tank breather being flattened so I've had to start her with the fuel cap off!!!)
Anyhoo, I'll be looking to add some piccies, and am looking to part her to a good home, so will ask for some advice on what she might realistically be worth (I've costed my input to dat at ?350, so anything more would be a bonus).
I've got a few techie queries I'd like to ask, so I hope I've found the right place to ask for help.
Also looking for any reg. details, so I'll add her engine and chassis number when I can.
Regards, and keep on drivin'

Now I thought that but as I got the car for free (the guy is a millionare and bought it when it was brand new and his family were telling him to get rid of it) so it's an interesting story if it's not true, its still a decent car and the speedo definitely isn't restricted.
Is there any way of tracking the vehicle's build origin/ birth place?
Cheers in advance
