Newbie ..old GTI..kettering northants

I'm simon with newly purchased '83 GTi in Lhasa green….not run for 3 years and still not running! Solid body but dents and paintwork issues…so far have carried out service…….that's it so far.

thanks for the replies guys…hope to get some pics up soon….stripped and cleaned interior at weekend and had a good look at the shell…it seems incredibly solid which is good.
Next is to get the engine running to see if it is any good….turns over but no spark….any ideas?….I'm not a mechanic …basic servicing skills only!
