newbie, mk1 golf

on going project,as i am only 17 this golf has took up most of my money and the 11 months i have had the car,it was totally standard when i bought it, but is turning into a real head turner, i have a 1.6 ltr gti lump in it, had kent cams fitted, leather interior, ?3000 spray job in my own 1 off paint, 17" LG wheels, avo adjustable coilovers rear disk conversion, every part on the car is brand spanking new, exept the engine. this car will be for sale very soon, please get back to me on what you think

Hi jibbamk1

Firstly welcome to the club. Looks very clean mate. A lot of people on here will frown upon modified golfs but don't let that put you off. Mines lightly modified too  There is a modified section on the site so have a butchers there.

I must say the custom paintwork and seats look cool. Maybe see you at the shows? 8)

What are youre engine plans? :dontknow:

Have you drivern the car yet? i have just one pointer and some free advice…………don't hate me for saying this…………. the wheels will be too big and will make the car feel like a roller skate. Before you use them sell them get some 15" rims, then wind those coilovers right down…..She will propotionally look and corner better. IMHO :D

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D

i appreciate  the advice mate, it was a hard decision to make when choosing wheels for the golf, but i just wanted to get it as modified as i could, it is a passion i have and i also have 5 other modified vehicles, they are all heavily modified, but i want people to appreciate all kinds of golfs
