newbie member ; info wanted info on gx mk1

hi everyone , im a new member , had my eye on what i thought was a mk 1 gti , it turns out its a gx mk 1 , that show,s how much i know about gti golf,s , im into restoring cars but usually they are a lot older my first one is a full restoration of a totally rusty 1965 sprite and i,ve done one mg meastro bake to ai condition , i own a mg metro turbo lookalike and ive done a full front respray on a mini cooper special this summer and i did think of getting a mini but i had my eye on this what i thought was a mk 1 gti only to find it to be a mk1 gs so if any one can give me any info that could help , the car meets all spec,s and is a gray colour it is in really good condition and needs very little work , bit of inside sill welding but other then that not a lot just a bit of tlc .  ops:

Welcome to the club. The GX was a run out model - think was only made in 1983. It does have some of the GTI trim such as front spolier & fog lights however it will be fitted with a 1.5 carb engine. Post some photos of it .
