Newbie looking for a Golf for track/project

Hey guys just joined as the site looks pretty good. I'm 17 and drive a Mk1 Peugeot 106 and am a member over on 106owners.co.uk.

I really like Golfs and I really like Mk1s looks wise but unfortunately that is the only experience I have of them Spotted a red GTi at a local garage, in a bad way and crying out for love, but apparently it isn't for sale.

I'm looking to get a Mk1 Golf, preferably a GTi as a track/project car. Was hoping I could maybe gain some advice etc.

Nice of that guy to give you a test drive in his car…I'll have to try that next time I see a GTI mk1! Good luck with your search, you'll find plenty of advice here aswell.

Welcome along mate, good luck with your hunt and when you find one it'll be worth joining the club as a paid member, it'll save you loads of cash on spare parts and insurance.
