newbie intro

hi all
well i've just bought my self a totally standard mk1 1.1c 3 door with no tax or mot,
i bought it and took it straight to the mot station the same day where it passed :D i also tax'd it to.

i got it from an old gent who had owned it since 95.he used to take it to london(volkspares) for its mot and service every yr.

i've had problems with it running on 3,the head gaskit had gone no comprestion on No1,so had the head skimed and pressure tested all good.
its looks like the rings have gone,as fitted new headgaskit etc and its still the same.
so…..i've just picked up a 91 polo 1.3 engine with 53,000 on the clock.
and my coilover arrived today as well :D

i'll get some pics up soon

cheers

yeah it is pretty good, rear arch's are starting to go at the bottom's and the rear panel has a small hole under the light.also the rear panel to spare wheel tray has a hole.
there are few dents and scratches on it,but it look's as though all the panels are the original one's.

it was on ebay for sale and the winner never collected it,so i bought it.it was local to me to.

in fact there is a red cabby parked just over the road from where this came from with one of the mk1 club air freshners in the window?they may know the car too

Hello and welcome to the club, check not the regional and national section its a great way to meet fellow owners and generally have a laugh !! Midland meets are @ j2 just off the m5 @ mcdonalds, as it happens we are going to uttoxeter sun night and come along its a pre AGM meet which is on the 23 of july,

Oh and you too could have an air freshner they are in the all new membership packs which for £15 a year is value beyond the stars, just check out the range of discounts on the left hand pane.

Dave.

Cheers, Dave.

How did you get on with the 5 speed mate?  What were the issues you had in getting her running?
