Newbie! insurance - eek!
Im fairly new, joined the other day after buying my mk1 1300 driver, my third VW at 17! had a mk2 project car, and i learned to drive in my mk2 1600 driver. spending a little money sorting bits of body work out and then im on the road! wondering about insurance, the best im getting is ?1400 with a years no claims of my bike! i cant get a classic policy because of my age (or can i ?) and most insurers tell me not to bother carrying on when i tell them the word 'golf'! any advice/recomendations atall? appreciate any help.
cheers

My advice is to use a specialist insurance broker adverts in the back of autotradr and Golf+ specialise in young drivers.
I'm lucky that i'm over 25 so I got a classic policy, but that no help to you

This is my own policy and i am the registered owner of the car. My dad is on the policy and my mum has recently been added (mum saved ?180.)
Oh, and I used 'confused.com' and it was admiral who gave me the best quote. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help Andrew, i tried confused.com and the cheapest they came up with was ?2200 with norwich union! no idea how you got it that cheap bud!, rung up admiral and they quoted me ?2900!! on a 1.3!! cant see one year making so much difference, especially on a GTI! anyhow thanks for the reply, the search continues!
cheers

maybe it is my posh edinburgh location!
try phoning adrian flux (although maybe for over 21's) and other classic car insurance firms. I know everybody says it but it really is best to get as many quotes as you can.
Try limiting the annual mileage and adding an older driver (e.g. your dad). little things like that help alot. Good Luck! :?
