Newbie in Blackpool

Hi!

Just got myself a 1981 Golf N. Black, 3 door.

I've been an owner for about 6 hours, and so far one spark plug literally ejected itself from the cylinder head, and I cracked the bastard windscreen getting it out!!!!!!!!!

Apart from that though, all is well.

Just stripping it back to a shell ready to paint sometime next week.

If someone could point me in the right direction for a replacement windscreen, it would be much obliged

Welcome to the site mate, I've always replaced my windscreens through autoglass (£70 thru my insurance ncb  not affected)and never had a problem, they can still get the glass i think..

Unfortuantely its not on the road or insured, but I've found a guy on here with one so should sort it soon

What engine size is it

looking at that brochure I think an  Golf L and N are the same other than

L= 5 Door
N = 3 Door
Both 1093 CC with manual Choke on 145/SR13 tyres

I could be very wrong, but its my interpretation on the book  n means 3 door

Its a 1.1 and a 3 door, so that sounds pretty good to me!
