Newbie Golf Mk1 GTI from Belgium

Hello,

My name is Tom, I am 26 years old and I live in Zaventem near Brussels in Belgium.
I finally bought my first Golf GTI; it has always been a dream of mine.
It is a 5 door model from 1983 with an 1800cc engine. The car is almost completely original except of the bbs rims and the little Kamei spoiler on the rear hatch but I think that both of them were accessories from that period. I love to hear your opinions on the car and I look forward to read all of the posts on this forum.

Friendly regards,

Tom

Hello Andy,

Thanks for your reply.

At first I also didn't believe that vw made 5 door GTI's but they actually did. In 1982 they started to make the 5 door 1800 GTI and in 1981 they even made (only for a few markets, don't ask me which ones) 5 door 1600 GTI's.

Just to be sure I checked the VIN number on mine before I bought it and it checked out.

Friendly regards,
Tom
