I guess I should start with how I came upon becoming a looooovely mk1 golf owner, well, my best friend wanted to get ris of his escort van, and stumbled upon the golf for £390 with a weeks MOT and tax…. His intention was to put me on the insurance so I could use it to learn to drive…Well, it went in for the MOT and failed….needed the breaks sorted and a fewwww bits of welding.
Sorted.

So it ran fine for a couple of weeks and then BAMMMMMMMM….the head gasket went. Gutted. He then got an offer of £500 for the car….but the guy that offered it didnt actually have the cash. SO Brennon left it on his driveway…the poor thing…seizing up…it was horrible. Brennon decided to do an engine conversion… he does a lot of these so it seemed like the best option…SO he purchase a polo. The insurance on that was going to be a BOMB, so he thought 'f**k it' and we decided to get a garage to do the head gasket and I decided to help him out and put a bit of cash towards it.

A few days went…. Brennon kept telling me I had a present…. but wouldnt give it to me… We were just about to leave his grandparents house when he gives me this very heavy box….I couldn't imagine what was inside it, and had to wait untill we were at his house and had finished an episode of the mighty boosh to open it….. So…. ontop of the box was an envelope, inside the envelope was a letter which read 'This entitles you use of Brennon skills and help'… You can only imagine what I thought that meant (:….so I started to unwrap the present…inside were the keys, V5, log book and lots of other bits of paperwprk for me to sign so that the car was officially mine….'Nothing says I love you like an expensive present' I cried as mk1 golfs are my dream cars. I love them… so that night I got the two best things ever. The car is in the garage atm, coming out tomorrow. £350 in total. Yew tree garage in fernhurst have been amazing with it… the guy there has about 4 mk1 golf gti's….but mine is still cooler than his. Apparently its a series 1 Mk1…different lights, no indicators on the sides, one wing mirror, different dash, different interior ect…. (:

Im very lucky as it is a series 1 (: Yeahhhh, I didnt realise how rare my particular golf was untill someone offered me £1000 for it when the head gasket was gone!! (:

Would never sell it though! (:
