Newbie from the north east-awesome forum!

Can I just say what a fantastic forum!! Not blowing smoke up people arses but for a car that is now nearly 40 years old I'm amazed at how busy the place is! and how many amazing project build ups are on the go!

I've been lurking for about a week, destroying my iphone battery at work reading project threads.  I'd say I was a mk2 boy really, but I have this hankering for a s1 golf, small taillight. I have a mk3 cabby as the last project car I need to clear, only want a few hundred quid and once its gone I'll have a nice dry empty lockup again.  And I'm at a point in my life where we have a couple of reliable dailys and a really fancy slowly, no rushing, doing a full build on a mk1/2, and a small taillight, small bumper mk1 would be grate.

The question is what will a couple of grand get me!

And whats the north east area like for mk1 owners?

Andy

Really?  I not fussed on engine size or spec, although I 'd prefer 3dr to 5dr unless its clean non arched lower spec model 5dr.  I just prefer small lights and small bumpers.  Where is the best place to be looking, dont seem to come up very often.

Its for a project, but I'd still like it to be complete and running, so I know it'll all go back together

Have a look at the cars for sale section on here or a wanted ad.
Should be something around. E bay and piston heads, cars and classics ate good places to have a look at also.

Enjoy..

Welcome to the club mate, as people have said have a good look and keep an eye on the for sale section.

best of luck finging your mk1 when the time is right.

If you have the weekend free you should come along to the MK1 annual gathering 6-8th july there you can have a chat with people, see some cars and check out the for sale section
