thanks man, appreciate it…
i have a few questions that you can maybe help me out with:
*have you heard of a mk1's wheel arches being modded before? the actual part that is flared over the wheel?
*Do you peeps that side also believe that a 17" should not be fitted to a mk1, due to it damaging the steering rack?
Thanks m8, ciao

just sold one of these in uk mate! best mk1 i ever had same colour 1994 plate. fannied about with it a bit like.... 17"s aint gonna do nowt for your car, just kill clutch, make steering heavy, eat front tyres (camber), lose acceleration, kill handling. cant you get it bit lower and stick smaller wheels on? us english are a right predantic bunch how much would you get a wing for? or a tailgate? tried getting in touch with vw in south africa but they aint interested, same here if you go in a dealers unless you are buying a new car.....

@ MO320…
yeah i am changing to 15", a pic of the rims i want to put on is in the RUNNING GEAR forum, have a look and tell me what you think…I am having problems with my steering rack after i put 17"
on, i had my steering rack refurbished and i am still having a clicking noice comming from it again everytime i turn the wheel, people say that that shouldnt happen if the guys fixed it propperly the first time…? what do you think?
A wing i can get for around R295 which is about 20 POUNDS, second hand for about 15 quid…really cheap if you ask me…a tail gate as in boot lid? probably about the same price if not less than the wing… There is unlimmitted spares available in SA for these cars, make it fun modding them…
