Hi Daz,
welcome aboard. :)
I'd look in the cars for sale section etc and have a look through there.
That's the problem with Younger drivers insurance is a big hit. Have a look at some of our insurers on here to see what they can offer.
A post up in the insurance section or a look through there to see if there's people in a similar position is worth a shot too.
I'm not sure how you'd fair on a shared policy maybe with a family member?
However becoming a paid Member gets you insurance discounts and things like 50% off RAC snd other great parts offers means that once you find the wee beauty you'll be in the best position to keep her maintained etc.

Cheers

Hi Daz

Im the organiser for the Scottish region and will pass on any info re cars for sale that I know about.

I have a Scottish region FB page and I am sure its a 1.3 blue Driver that is for sale in Glasgow on it.

As Carl says, insurance for someone your age might be a nightmare as I am sure one of the other lads from Scotland, Mark, was quoted £4k for a 1.5 GX :P

Anything I can do to help, just message me.

Cheers Chris

Passed your test, good for you mate!
You'll find a lot of help and friends at this Club.

But a word to the wise, take your time to spend your money and if you have any doubt, talk to the Members or just Massbad69 .
Chris will point you in the right direction but don't upset him!
Na, he's a real good Guy.

Oh before I forget, don't touch anything with Mod's that can't be easily and cheaply removed, or your Insurance will go 'Ballistic'!  :o

Good luck and keep us updated please.  :)

Thanks for all the replies guys, i will keep my eyes peeled and keep you updated! I have had some insurance quotes for 1.3 drivers at around 1400 - 1800 range which is fairly reasonable for a first quote i guess.

Aye cheers chris, iv been on the page and seen it, went to view it on sunday but couldnt get in touch with the owner so could only have a look around the outside of the car for a couple of minutes as we were passing through glasgow, seems a really nice motor at a fair price too so im hoping the owner can get back in touch with me at some point!

Thanks again and will keep you updated,

Cheers, daz

Hey mate welcome to the forum!

Congrats on passing your test, my first car was a cora b, you're doing alright!

Having someone over the age of 25 will bring your policy down quite a hefty amount , also with years of driving experience!

Hope the hunt for the car goes well! pop back and send us some picture when you get one.

Also stay close to Chris, you'll probably end up in a 73' swollowtail or something ;) :)

Thanks for the warm welcome. Im really glad i passed my test cause i managed it with no minors at all!

Iv been hunting for a car for a while looking at mk2 golfs as well, i think i prefer the look of a mk1 more though, will keep hunting and hopefully  the right one will pop up, patience is a virtue as they say.
