Newbie from S.Wales

Hello everybody!

Just bought my first Mk1 cab today, and thought i'd better say Hi!!

I've picked up an '84 GL  from a member of the site - Thanks satelliteone! Drove home for 3 hours from Plymouth and all I want to do is get back behind the wheel - i'm officially addicted.

I'm a novice when it comes to the Mk1, so any help and advice will be gladly welcome.

Got a couple of plans for the cab, starting with a new roof.

Hello and welcome, Where abouts you from in SW? I have personally seen that one a few times at the meets - a nice Buy. :wink:  Any Qs just ask - we all started somewhere.

I live in the delightful seaside town of Barry, you might be familiar with Barry island about 5 miles west of Cardiff.

I got a friend to have a good look at the car this morning and he said its in good nick.

I drove it with the hood down for the first time and i'm still grining!!   why i waited this long to buy one i will never know :dontknow:

Are you anywhere near chepstow?

i'm about 40 miles west of Chepstow, but haven't got a problem getting there if that's where people meet up.

I'm close to the English/Welsh border.  About 7 miles from Monmouth

are there many mk1 owners close to you? i haven't seen any in my area, but i'm keeping my eyes peeled!!

Not many this side of the border.  A few in Herefordshire.  How far are you from Bristol? We sometimes have the Southwest meet there

I can get to Bristol in an hour, let me know the next meet and i'll come along

Keep looking on the forum under regional meets.  We usually rotate it Cribbs, Taunton, Exeter.  Not sure if the next one is Cribbs or Taunton, as the last one was cancelled :?

just looked at the thread, next meet is in Taunton, bit too far for me , but i'll be at the next Bristol meet  How come meets are being cancelled, is there not enough interest?

It fluctuates, sometimes loads, sometimes almost none
