Newbie from Kent

Hi everyone,

Have always wanted a Mk1 cabby, and my hubby bought me one a couple of weeks ago as an early bday pressie! :-) We used to have a Mk2 VR6 (hubby did conversion himself), but shortly after we decided to have a baby and sadly decided the car had to go for something more practical :-(. But now our son's a bit more grown up and we still have a practical car too, so seemed like a good time to get one! :-)




Bodywork's in great condition, unfortunately the engine was on it's last legs and as we predicted it died on the way home from buying it, so this is how it arrived lol…



It's currently sitting on the drive, engine has been taking out and I've been scrubbing away at the engine bay to tidy it up as much as poss before the new one goes in, which will hopefully be in a couple of weeks. However, the fact it currently doesnt move hasnt deterred me from buying bits for it lol, the most expensive of which being some Borbet A alloys. Plans for now are to get it running, change the current manky interior for a Mk3 interior I won on ebay (if anyone has done this, any tips would be appreciated!), and give it a good clean and tidy up. Then I'll saving up for a full respray.

Have already been on here a few times to search for answers, and have gotta say u guys are really helpful! I'm sure I'll be on here a lot over the next couple of months asking all sorts of questions!
