Newbie from Ely, cambridge

Hi guys,
Im Ben and im an alcoholic, just kidding.
Ive been a member since june last year,  been busy though running my used car business and thought it was about time I introduced myself.
I currently own a 1988 VW golf cabby in white, after many years being a golf fan. Previously I have owned a Mk1 black Gti tintop, a mark 2 Gti, a mark 3 gti, a mark 3 VR6, a mk4 GT Tdi, and a mk4 1.8T Gti. but none of these cars have given me the same fun as my mk1 cabby hence after 2 years I still have it, and have no intention of giving it up.
So far I have put a set of 15"black cross spoke alloys with chrome edges on it, a new black mohair roof, Blue Leather interior from a sirocco  storm and lowered it 40mm, I have also put euro rear lights on. It looks great and drives great, but only comes out in the summer.
Over the coming months I intend to treat the leather as it is badly worn and perhaps get a clipper kit, im undecided on the clipper kit yet.  Any opinions on what looks better would be appreciated.
I took the car to Gti international last year with my brother who has a mk3 gti, but this year would like to park it with all the other mk1 owners club cars at this show and other shows that I can attend.
Now my business is up and running I should be able to attend several shows this year and hope to meet up with other members from my area.

Nice t have you along mate your car sound ace. As to the Clipper kit, it's your call. Some love it and others don't. Personally I can see advantages in both camps. I live in London and need strong bumpers. if I had skinny chrome jobbies they would either be trashed or stolen.

Glad to hear that you've settled down in your business and settled down with your choice of car!

As to Clipper Kit as Tian said it's like marmite! I don't think i could decide..!

Here are some pics taken march 2008, I have since replaced the rear lights with euro look.  Clear indicators on the wings and in the bumpers and lowered the car 40mm all round. What do you think guys?
