Newbie From down south :)

Heyhey Everyone,

Guessing this is the right place to post, not quite sure what to say. My names steve and i've been a VW fan since i learnt to drive (my first car was a mk2 1.3,) I live right down south (Portsmouth actually)

I Have finally managed to get my hands on a Mk1 Cabby GTi which I have wanted for a while. Now I have something else to play with I daresay you will see me posting on the wanted forums as i need a fair few parts

Im open for all help and advice people are willing to give

Welcome to the club , make sure you check out the top left link on forum which allows you to be a paid member for only £15 a year, and you then get plenty of discounts from manufacturers of parts, insurance and all sorts, can end up saving you alot of £'s ;-)

Rich, the car is harly show standard, and has some rust peeking though (it was stood for a year with the previous owner)

Is it still ok to come along?

Steve one thing you will quickly learn about the club, is it is about the love for cars, having fun together, meeting up for one day shows through to near week long epic road trips to Germany, it dosnt matter whether the cars falling apart or concourse, it dont need air ride and bbs to be apprecited here (not that there is anything wrong with BBS and air ride and i'd quite like both lol)

Thats great to hear Rich, hopefully I will have it looking good in time for the summer and I should be up for that trip… Is there a convoy heading up from anywhere in my direction?

Also, does anyone know of any meets around this area. I know dubscene are around, though last time I went there I felt a bit out of place and seemed very clicky so I doubt i will return.

I used to enjoy no-rice if anyone used to go there, so im willing to travel a bit if it is a decent, friendly meet

If you private message Chrissy coming from Oxfordshire and Spark Stu coming from Andover looking at AA route planner you guys could meet up on the way

we will be meeting at cribbs causeway on the M5 by Bristol, but it would possibly be quicker for you guys to come cross country using the A419 and A417 into gloucester and we could meet you by berkely castle and all go in together and set up?

Or if you guys fancy you could come straight down M4 and onto M5 and meet us at cribbs causeway
