newbie, cabriolet owner. Edinburgh
finally got a real old dub after having owned 3 polos (mk4, mk3 gt and mk6) and was loving every minute of it until some little b@st@rd thought it'd be a good idea to brick my windscreen.
Hope to start attending meets and shows over the summer once Ive started making the old girl a bit more mine.

Sorry to hear about the brick incident. Would be good to see some pics when you get sorted. What are your plans for it?

My Car
I'm planning to change the bumpers, arch extensions and mirrors to black plastic ones as i think theres far to much white goin on, had m3 style back lights on when i got it but changed them back to standard. Hopefully get ahold of some g60 steelies for it soon until i can afford some ats classics.

same boat...different crew (novice)
Anyway, unsurprisingly there's no manual for it and looking into the Haynes ones there doesn't appear to be on specifically for the 1.8 Cab. I'm really excited about keeping it running as sweetly as it does now but I know very little about mechanics let alone the VW.
The current prob (there will be more) with my knowledge is that now that the electric hood and stereo has stopped working I don't know what the problem is. I checked and changed fuses - no difference. Every other electrical item works. Am I correct in believing that if the fuses check out then it could be a relay? If so which one? Any ideas? Moreover, where should I go and research this? (polite answers only)….
Sorry for the length and basic ignorance of this post - I will get better - honest!
Ewan.
