New very late Cabriolet owner

Post

Hi all,

My name is Andrew, i'm from Leamington Spa in the Midlands and i've just bought a Mk1 Cabriolet. I'm looking to bring it back up to standard, as it looks to have taken a bit of a beating in recent times.

The car is a 92 on a J plate, and has the 1.6 carb motor. I've also got a Mk3 on a J plate, which looks a bit wrong when they are sitting next to each other!

Cheers!

Hi Scott,

It's generally just tidying up previous owners' modifications, with a few age-related repairs.

Of course the car needs a good service first of all. I've also got to remove a malfunctioning alarm/immobiliser, remove the dangerously dark tints and re-tap a wheel bolt thread in the rear drum. I'd also like to get it sitting level on its suspension, rather than looking like it has a heavy load in the boot!

The first part i'm currently looking for is a pair of window winders for the rear 1/4 windows - they have both snapped off!
