New user Wobbles

Hey.  Just bought a MK1 GTI so thought i'd join up.  I had a MK3, then an Oak Green MK2 16V, so i thought the next step would be to go right back to the original but the best MK1 GTI.

are you going to any shows..

I'm from Aberdeenshire.  I normally just manage to the vintage/other shows in the Aberdeen area and down to Crail.  Don't really venture too much further.  Might do this summer though.  Any shows really worth going to? Possibly with a good night life near it?

GTi international springs to mind next weekend, although it gone downhill since it left crowthorne 4 years ago, however this new venue should hopefully be the turnaround it needs to make it great again.

cheers. its a BBS kit on it.  Much as i'd like to take credit for the way it looks i bought it like this.  Only thing i'm really thinking of doing is perhaps a new set of wheels.  Any ideas of what wheels would suit it with the kit?

I'm not really wanting to lower it too much more either because i think i have wrecked my back with how low my MK2 was sitting. lol

Just wondering if there are many meets in Scotland?  Noticed on the Regions page there was one in May.

a truly sad state of affairs with regards the Scottish meets.

a guy called Ed took charge of organising meets in Scotland, and he has just left, and hasnt been seen on the site in months.

There was an idea to meet at Volksfling (a big aircooled with some watercooled event)  in May, which a few of us managed to attend, but we did not meet up for some reason.

If there was more enthusiasm for a meet then I would be more than happy to attend one.

Anyway, your best bet is too join www.scottishvag.com I'm affraid.  Looks like that is where I am headed…
