New user saying hello

Hi
I wish there was a site like this years ago when i had a Helios blue mk1 golf Gti campaign (A981 WMU). If there was i'd probably still have the car!!!
Sadly it made way for a Corrado G60 but now that i've mellowed out i've bought a White 'F' plate GTI cabriolet.
Well anyway just saying hi

Welcome to the site!

Mk1s are like that, you can check out, but you can never leave!

Cheers,

Drew.

Mk 1 Joy

Yeah it's a great feeling being behind the wheel of a mk1 again  . Funny how you remember the silly little things. Like how the rear view mirror shakes as you accelerate and, dare i say it the brakes 8O , or lack of them. Driving back from London with my new purchase was a nightmare i was glad of a helping hand (cheers Rob). It's sat on my drive now and looks very nice. It needs minimal parts to bring back to standard. Door outer window seals, radiator cards , a jack(toolkit), a boot carpet and various interior clips. But for less than ?2k i think i have a 'good un'.

Hi and welcome. As Drew said the Mk1 always stays with you. It was a long 15 years between me selling my first GTI and buying my 2nd.
