New to the MK1 world! G Reg GTI Cab owners!

Hi everyone just joined this great forum!me and my partner just purchased a really nice mk1 GTI Cab,

First time iv ever driven a mk1 and its great! iv had golfs before but the new gti's! currently drive a 2008 Seat Leon Cupra its great but we wanted something to use at the weekends and enjoy a little project! its in nice condition so only needs minor improvments i will be taking this to shows next year so over the winter i will be spending lots of time and im sure money! looking into engine convertions as well,

Hi, and welcome she looks lovely mate, the guys here are a very friendly bunch i did my 1st show and meet very recently at malvern, looking forward to with you next year even with a light wallet like me but dont tell the wife. Ginner.

I went all the way to manchester from Kent! was a good drive back tho if not a bit nervouse because i didnt know the car and how it would do but 300+ miles later i was home with no problems so was great!!

Feels great when you get them home after a long drive not knowing the car,
I drove to manchester in the morning from there to wales in the afternoon, stayed over in wales for the night,  went to look at the one I brought then drove home. 650 mile round trip. Then went back the following weekend on the train to pick her up.

Car looks really nice mate, I am new on here as well, having recently bought an L reg Black sportline, have done all the cleaning, now the real money starts to burn…getting her 100% original and driving like she should, full glass out bare metal respray, refurbished wheels,new tyres all round,new hood,new brakes, new suspension loads of parts I have had to source already…….oh the things we do for the love of a vw :-)
