New to the forum

Hello all. I hope I'm not breaking some sort of rule because I'm not actually in the U.K.. I'm in Australia, but I recently became the proud owner of a very pretty and tidy 1987 Cabriolet. The first VW Golf I've ever had anything to do with.  I've fallen completely in love with it (although not with the Pierburg 2E2 carb !) and am keen to keep up with as much info as possible in order to keep it running well. I'll post a picture of it when I get a chance. Despite being on the opposite side of the planet I hope I can still be a part of this online community of lucky Mk1 Golf owners, thanks, David Hynd.

welcome

welcome david im pretty new myself! congrats on buying a quality car! i have a 91 cabriolet and like you the pierburg carb is a bit of a pandora's box! i dumped mine for a weber 32/34DMTL with manual choke, miles better running more performance and slightly better fuel economy! you'll find loads of help on here as i have, all the people are excellent and you could probably solve any problem with your car with the help of these guys and girls! you're a bit luckier than us though mate my roof hasnt been down for ages! and we've been under snow for about a month now!!! sick of it!. anyway enjoy!!. chris.
