New to MK1's

just thought id say a quick hello to everyone and show off what is going to be a very long project.

this is my first golf ive always wanted one and when this came up i thought id grab it.

i did think about getting one for a few 2k but when i was offered this to move it off my mates drive i couldn't pass it up and thought well in for a penny in for a pound.

Oooooo….. you've got your work cut out mate  :mrgreen: .  Nothing better than starting from a shell… I'll be stripping one of mine in the next couple of years and doing a fast road car.

that's what i thought a pretty much bare shell gives me scope to do anything i want with it.

i rooted though the bits that were thrown in the car and found a full set of koni sport adj dampers and springs along with what i think are hot tuning rear coilovers.

sunday i went back over to the place i got the car from and robbed the front shocks/ hubs/ and lower arms from a caddy, for the front so should be rolling once everythings been cleaned and rebushed.


also got a replacment boot and bonnet which were in the back of the caddy

For parts you are missing pm funk-star who should be able to sort you out.  With the bare shell you can put good all the bits that need attention then build the car… can't wait to do mine… it'll take ages but your in a good position mate.  What look you going for original or modded?
