I've joined the forum to hunt down a Mk1 for me and me partner Gill. She's owned them in the past and we want another. We're both mad about bikes…but there's only so much shopping you can put in a top box..

So we'd like one that we can love, cherish and bling

It's all a bit foriegn to me…I like to get the spanners going on bikes but cars are a new thing to me…I've always admired them from afar!

Fortunately My dads a mechanic and i know my way around a haynes manual..

I suppose I'll just have to trawl through the site and learn what to look out for when checking out a Mk1

IT'S NOT A COMPLICATED CAR TO WORK ON JUST CHECK FOR THE RUST REAR SUSPENSION LOCATION POINTS REAR ARCHES INNER AND OUTER TWO OF THE MAIN POINTS I SHOULD KNOW I'VE JUST ABOUT FINISHED BUILDING ANOTHER GOLF AND THAT WAS TWO OF THE POINTS I HAD TO REPAIR AT LEAST WHEN IT DONE I CAN GET THE GOLD GOLF AWAY NOT ENOUGH SPACE FOR THE TWO OF THEM PITY

Ideal another scott and a cat a holder! Reminds me of me allthough i've still to buy a big bike lol! Shedloads of usefull information to be found here on most catagoreys to do with the mk1 and most of the time if you cant find anything on what your after theres a few dedicated members with all the right info!
