new north east mk1 golf nut

hi all first of all im enjoying your site i think its great and is very helpful.
just been getting a mk1 golf 1.1c wanted 1 for ages as my older bro has a mk1 campaign in helios blue. got the car 4 weeks ago and in that time ive striped it out put new sills on and wings which took some time getting them to line up properly  hadrian panels aint that good done all other bits of welding . got a 1.8 16v kr engine which im on rebuilding with lot of polished bits. im going to run it on r1 carbs useing the dizzy off the 1.1 thats the plan hopfully im going to put it on coil overs 13" wheels ive removed the bumpers and welded up the holes were they fit going to be painted in audi s3 white all striped out with just 2 seats and a rool cage ,ive striped every bit of weight possable so should go ok. 1 question i wil ask is will the mk1 gti drive shafts fit my hubs any help with that would be great? it should be ready for paint next week
